1 cup cooked rice | 1 cup milk | 1/3 cup sugar | 1 teaspoon ground cardamom | 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon, plus more for garnishing | ¼ cup dried blueberries, plus more for garnishing.

Directions

Using a medium saucepan, blend all ingredients and bring the mixture to simmer. Fix for five minutes blending regularly till the pudding is rich and smooth. Serve warm or room temperature. Garnish with additional dried blueberries and dust a little of the cinnamon ground.

There are no reports on the risks of using cardamom in cooking or any known adverse side effects. Using cardamom as a spice and flavor agent is safe for most people to take in moderate amounts. Though cardamom has the abilities that could improve health but it is still at the early stage to say whether the spice can treat any health conditions.

 

Cinnamon

Studies have found cinnamon has high amount of antioxidants. Its anti-inflammatory properties may help to prevent the formation of free radicals that might damage the cells and nervous system with additional in helping to reduce cholesterol levels.

Recipe using Cinnamon: Cinnamon-Soy Braised Pork

Ingredients:

1 tablespoon canola oil | 3 ½ pounds boneless pork shoulder, rimmed | 6 tablespoons soy sauce | 1/2 cup Hua Tiao Chiew | 1/3 brown sugar | 2 tablespoons julienne-cut peeled fresh ginger | 2 x 3 inch cinnamon sticks | 1 star anise

Directions

Heat the oil over high heat. Add pork and cook for 5 minutes or until browned and always turn frequently. Remove from pan and set aside.

Pour all ingredients in pan over medium heat and stir till sugar dissolves. Return pork to pan. Cover, reduce heat and simmer for 2 and half hours until pork is fork-tender. Discard cinnamon and star anise.
