Dang Gui Black Chicken Herbal Soup 当归乌鸡汤
Angelica Root or better known as Dang Gui 当归 helps to tonify the blood, improves blood flow, kidney and liver functions. On top of that, it also helps to balance women’s hormone levels. Especially for those with deficient blood, pale and dizziness after monthly menstruation or giving birth.
Dang Gui is only meant to be consumed for three to four consecutive days after your period ends. After your period has ended, you may consume 1 to 2 times of this herbal soup over a few days. If you feel digestive discomforts or excessive heat from the soup, then reduce or stop the remedy.
Do take note that Dang Gui promotes blood circulation and it may lead to more blood loss if used during period of bleeding.
You should not consume this soup remedy during menstruation or any serious bleeding, as well as during cold, flu or fever.

After drinking this herbal tonic, in order not to void the effect of dang gui, you should avoid taking cold drinks, Chinese tea and white radish for the next 24 hours.

- 160g Black Chicken 乌鸡
- 3pcs Dang Gui sliced 当归片
- 1 tsp Wolfberries (Goji) 枸杞
- 4 pcs Red Dates Seedless 无核红枣
- 2 pcs Honey Dates 蜜枣
- 350ml Hot Water
Step by step:
- Rinse herbs and put all ingredients in a soup pot with hot water.
- Bring to a boil and lower heat to simmer for 2 hours.
- Salt for taste.
